On Aug. 6, Gov. Christie signed into law the TEACH NJ Act, the groundbreaking tenure-reform legislation that dramatically changes the way teacher tenure is acquired and kept in New Jersey schools. The cornerstone of the law will be the statewide implementation of a new system of evaluating educators, which is now being piloted in two dozen school districts.
Join program host Ray Pinney as he discusses teacher tenure and evaluations with Dr. Michael Kuchar, superintendent of the Bergenfield School District, which is one of the pilot school districts implementing new teacher evaluations, and attorney Steven Fogarty of the firm of Fogarty and Hara, which represents numerous school districts in northern New Jersey.
