This year for the second time in New Jersey history we will be electing candidates to the local Boards of education in a November election.  Yet it does not matter much when the election is held because there is always a difference between being a school board candidate and a school board member.  Once elected what should the new board member be prepared for?  What is your legal responsibility?  How do you get information to make informed decisions?  What is the relationship between the board and the superintendent?  Please join host Ray Pinney as he discusses these and other issues about being a newly elected board member with Donna Kaye NJSBA Legal Department, Terri Lewis, NJSBA Field Service Representative, and Marcia Lavigne NJSBA County Activities Coordinator.  If you are a school board candidate this program will help you be prepared for your first meeting.
