School Law Today - Changes in the Rice Notice Procedures

A recent decision by the New Jersey Appellate Division on “Rice Notice” procedures has greatly impacted local boards of education.  Even though the court ruling was in regards to a Kean University case, its impact will be felt by boards of education because it is a ruling in regards to the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) which applies to all public bodies including school districts.  How does this ruling change who receives a “Rice Notice”?  What can boards do to comply with the law?  What is the impact of the ruling on board minutes if any?  Please join NJSBA host Ray Pinney as he discusses this ruling with Stephen R.
