Legal Issues on the “Pass the Trash” Law for School Districts

Recently the Legislature passed, and Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law, P.L. 2018, c5, commonly referred to as the “Pass the Trash” law.  This law affects all school districts, charter schools and private schools in regard to the hiring process.  What steps should districts take when they are hiring a staff member?  What are the obligations of a former employing school district when another school district is requesting employment information?  Please join NJSBA host Ray Pinney as he discusses this new law with Joseph L.
