The Unique Experience of the Millennial School Board Member

The Pew Research Center defines millennials as those born between 1981 and 1996. While generational markers are never precise, they do offer broad insights into the experiences of different age groups.  Several boards of education in New Jersey now include millennials as members, and many of those members are recent graduates of the school system in which they now serve a governance role.  What are the unique perspectives, experiences and challenges that these millennial board members face?  Please join NJSBA host Ray Pinney as he discusses these issues with three millennial board members: Rebecca Cruz from the Carlstadt/East Rutherford Regional High School board; Brandon Pugh of the Moorestown board, who also serves as NJSBA’s vice president for legislation/resolutions , and Adam Parkinson from the West New York board.
