Social media is more popular than ever, and most people have a social media presence, but it is not without its complications. When school board members and school personnel use social media they sometimes have to strike a balance between competing legal questions, such as freedom of speech vs. the Code of Ethics for School Board Members; and privacy vs. the Open Public Meetings Act and the Open Public Records Act.
