It was a hushed moment of terror that we witnessed. Where from here when the protests are done and the nation turns away, once more, from any notion of some “renewed scrutiny” of violence and killing of Black people under the cover of law? 

"We don’t see any American dream,” Malcolm X said in 1964. “We’ve experienced only the American nightmare.”

You are them. They are you. You are all the same person—all the murdered, all the living, all the infected, all the resisting—because racist America treats the whole Black community and all of its anti-racist allies as dangerous. We held a dream like a King, when even his dream in 1967 “turned into a nightmare.”
