Our guest this morning is Joanie Plake.

Joanie is a local yoga and mindfulness teacher, and the founder of Breathe & Learn, a kids health and wellness company. Joanie's yoga journey began while living in New York City and earning a Masters in Elementary and Special Education. Her experiences as an educator in NYC and LA highlighted the need for a greater focus on social and emotional learning. After deepening her own yoga practice through a 200 hour teacher training, she was inspired to pursue teaching yoga full time and create a workshop for children that supported emotional intelligence through journaling, yoga and mindfulness. Whether she is working with children or adults, she hopes her students walk away from B&L classes and experiences with a deeper understanding of themselves and tools to continue nourishing their minds and bodies in healthy ways.

Joanie is going to be one of the guest presenters at the Manhattan Beach Chamber Economic Forum taking place on Wednesday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Joslyn Community Center.
