Our guest this morning is local photographer, Kat Monk.

Well known in Los Angeles for her individual and family photography portraiture, Kat’s work also includes headshots of sports celebrities, and dynamic concert images of musicians, as well as corporate work for companies such as Skechers.

Her photography career, specializing in babies, children and families creating timeless fine art portraits, was launched.

A South Bay native, Kat resides in Manhattan Beach. She has four children, including local musician Slater Monk of the band Good Vibes, and is currently a contributor to South Bay magazine.

Kat has an exhibition at ShockBoxx Gallery in Hermosa Beach starting tonight, July 5 and running through July 8, and will be showing for the first time her exciting .25 ALT collection of alternative rock musician images, displaying mixed originals with photographs, and capturing the light, energy and movement of renowned musicians and bands such as Gwen Stefani, Chris Cornell, Mumford & Sons and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
