Dr. Karen Freberg is an associate professor at the University of Louisville.

Her research interest is in social media and public relations.

Dr. Freberg has created her #freberg classes which allowed her students to work with brands during the semester.

Her recent #freberg17 class put together and implemented a social media marketing plan for the Louisville Bats which increased their audience.

Before becoming a professor, she was a student athlete at the University of Florida and later at University of Southern California as a graduate student.

During her time as a graduate student, she spent a semester doing an internship for a public relations company in South Africa.

Dr. Freberg has presented at conferences around the world and even written guest articles for Adobe and Meltwater.

She has also been featured in online media outlets including Hootsuite and Front Office Sports.
