At the turn of the century, the job market was decidedly more straightforward than it is today in 2013. An unemployed individual could submit a crisp, well-formatted resume to an employment agency that would then send it to potential employers who were a good fit. A little over ten years ago, this strategy was sufficient for landing an interview because the demand for jobs was met by a healthy economy.
