Listen to the Sat. Nov. 21, 2020 edition of the Pan-African Journal: Worldwide Radio Broadcast hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program features our regular PANW report with dispatches on the announcement by the Zimbabwe Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that there would be six new licenses granted for television stations inside the country; the Federal Republic of Nigeria has fallen into an economic recession amid the global COVID-19 pandemic which has impacted the world; Ethiopian Defense Forces have announced that it is concluding its military operations in the Tigray region in the north of the Horn of Africa state; and Zambia has recently defaulted on international bond obligations. In the second hour we look in detail at the continuing internal conflict in Ethiopia. Finally, we listen to a briefing from the World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus where he discusses the pandemic and other related public health issues.
