Listen to the Sun. July 17, 2022 special edition of the Pan-African Journal: Worldwide Radio Broadcast hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program features our PANW report with dispatches on the recent passing of African National Congress (ANC) Deputy Secretary General Jesse Duarte in the Republic of South Africa; the Ethiopian state-owned media says that the country will overcome whatever challenges its faces during the current period; South Sudan has appealed to the United States to restore aid to the economically distressed state; and the public health status of the continent remains a cause for concern among officials throughout the region. In the second hour we listen to the eulogy delivered by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the funeral of Jesse Duarte. We return to the South African Communist Party (SACP) 15th National Congress held over the weekend where the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) President Zingiswa Losi addressed the gathering. Finally, we look at the underlying circumstances surrounding the crisis in Sri Lanka.
