In 2011 a new term origniated called, "Ghosting." Many may not have heard of such of a term but others may have experienced such. Ghosting is breaking off a relationship by ceasing all forms of communication and contact with the former partner without any apparent warning or justification, as well as ignoring the former partner's attempts to reach out or communicate. It appears that 27% of women and 14% of men reported having been ghosted. 24% of women and 17% of men have ghosted another. 23% of women and 36% of men reported never experencing ghosting in any capacity. 26% of women and 33% of men reported both either ghosting or being ghosted.

Ghosting does not pertain to a certain gender. It appears to be closely related to one's maturity and communication skills. People who ghost appear to be primarily focused on avoiding their own emotional discomfort. They may not be thinnking about how it makes the other person feel. Therefore one should not take it personal.

Ghosting is the ultimate use of the silent treatment. It is a form of emotional cruelty. Join my special guest and I as well as the callers as we discuss this topic.
