This week our EDU Topic: Native American Treaties and Sovereignty

Even under Treaties, the Native American is considered wards of the Federal Government. Their indigenous Rights has, and continue to be violated and undermined by Federal, State, and Tribal Policies, Executive Orders, and or Congressional Acts.

Consider the Bureau of Indian Affairs is a Division within the United States Department of Interior, also formerly known as the Department of War.

I am pleased to have two guests on our show this week. Our first honored guest is Ms. Louise Yellowman, an Elected Official for (28) Twenty-eight years serving as Coconino County Supervisor. Ms. Yellowman will share her experience and what it meant to her personally, when she was asked by Washington DC Library of Congress to host the Treaty of 1868 between the Navajo Nation and the United States.

We also want to welcome back our renowned Native American Advocate, Ms. Snookie Correa, who will speak to her concerns regarding Native American Treaties during and post COVID-19 Pandemic.

Ms. Correa's expertise and frontline experience as a Disaster Relief and Crisis Management Specialist brings a sovereign perspective with some harsh truths intended to raise our awareness of the current state of affairs as it relates to the threat of Native American Treaties.
