This week we will continue the discussion of Treaty Rights with Lakota Oceti Sakowin, Chief and Headsman, Emerson Elk of Oceti Sakowin, the only man and family who has stood on Treaty...Elk vs. U.S. Supreme Court and won.
Our Second guest is Medicine Man, Mr. Dave Swallow from Pine Ridge and Wounded Knee who will share his spiritual perspective as it relates to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The 1st Episode in the Treaty Series our guest, Ms. Louise Yellowman shared with our listeners the Navajo Philosophy, Traditional Beliefs, and Personal Experiences as it relates to the 1868 Treaty between the Navajo Nation and the United States. In short, she shared the 1868 Treaty does not define the Dine's connection to the Land, Creator does. The Dine' were placed here by the Creator and the Holy Beings between the Four Sacred Mountains. As Dine', we are connected to the land, when born our Umbilical Cord is buried where we're born, that is how the Dine' is connected. Further, our Creator made us Stewards of our Traditional Mother Lands.
