I’ve heard from many of my clients that being laid off in some way was INDEED a wakeup call. The first month of unemployment showed them how much of their working lives were consumed with stress, career ambition, late office nights, travel, unhealthy eating, snacking, and little if any, physical activity.

I know it is an extreme example, but one job seeker told me, that it took being let go from his job, for him to realize that he had forgotten the ages of his young children.

While we all know that being unemployed is no bargain, it may be the signature event that inspires you to better balance your work and home life.

One lifestyle change that many unemployed job seekers do pursue, which is awesome, is to improve their health though general physical fitness and nutrition. While committing to any lifestyle change is not an easy endeavor, taking small steps (dance steps) and increasing your commitment level over time can help you keep you accountable and committed.

Clear your schedule, and put on your sneakers.  I really mean, “put them on”, and this is a warning, if I were you, I would turn the speakers down, and join me, Kim Gardner, Intuitive Career Coach, Wednesday, June 13, 2013, 6:30 p.m. live on The Resume Energy Show, with my wonderful guest, Jaquetta Perry-Boyd, CEO and President of Variations in Communications, LLC or (Ms. J) which she prefers to be called; for a Resume Energy’s intro to Zumba™ 101.
