Barbara Malley began her stage career when, at Age 13, she was assigned to direct her eighth grade class assembly. The courage to actually pursue auditioning for stage came later when she played the roles of Antigone and Thomas More while in graduate school working for her MA in English. Next came several years of classes in singing and acting and doing on-camera commercials. Then, after a week of show cases attended by agents and casting directors, she was signed by a manager and began planning a move to Manhattan.

Since 2010, Barb has delved into many aspects of the business. The two major interests have been on- camera commercials and cabaret singing. She has had 8 solo cabaret shows, was nominated for a MAC award twice, winning it once. She has had principal roles in about 20 commercials --her favorites being those with humor and improv.

Among recent roles, two favorites were the role of Goldie in Season Two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and, spread over 3 years, a series of nine scenes as a Bubbe in commercials for the American Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

During COVID days, Barbara has been singing at 10 virtual open mics each month, a wonderful way to be lifted up by music and to mingle with singers from many parts of this country and several others.
