Sara Louise Lazarus, director, recently received the “Best Show” award from BroadwayWorld for Carried Away: Jeff Harnar sings Comden and Green at Birdland. She also has a MAC Award as Best Director and two Bistro Awards, the most recent in 2018 for her direction of the original musical revue It Helps To Sing About It: The Songs of Ben Schaechter and Dan Kael. Sara has taught workshops for Yale, Harvard, the University of New Hampshire and Penn State, as well as Master Classes in Los Angeles produced by ASCAP. She is currently Chair of Musical Theatre at Circle in the Square Theatre School, where she created a BFA in partnership with Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. At the Sara Lazarus Studio in NY she teaches professional musical audition and cabaret classes.
