Howard Murray is a television director, born in NYC. He is the son of the late Jan Murray, a prolific American comedian, actor, and game show host. Moved with family to Beverly Hills. Attended Beverly Hill High School. Attended USC School of Cinematic Arts. Worked on everything from game shows to music videos to commercials in a variety of jobs. Joined the Director’s Guild of America in 1978. Got first sitcom job as a Post Production Supervisor on many shows, including The Cosby Show. First directing job on a sitcom You Again? Starring Jack Klugman and John Stamos. Went on to direct over 100 episodes of prime time sitcoms. Grace Under Fire, King of Queens, The Big Bang Theory are just a few of those titles. He retired in 2012. Met his wife, Molly Cheek, while directing her in Harry and the Hendersons. Raised around his Dad’s friends...Milton Berle, Jerry Lewis, Buddy Hackett, etc. Got his son a job after he finished film school on The Big Bang Theory. He worked his way up during the 12 seasons. Highlight for Howard was getting to work with him.
