May 13 and December 3 are both National Apple Pie Days. Apple pie is typically a double crust pie filled with apples and served either hot or cold. It may be served plain, topped with ice cream, whipped cream, double cream, or custard. The earliest known recipe for apple pie is from 1381, England. The ingredients required were: good apples, good spices, figs, raisins, and pears. This is referred to as English-style. Who do YOU think makes a great apple pie? Let me Know! They might be celebrated here!
