Brachycephalic dog breeds are a group of highly selectively bred dog breeds with pushed in/flattened muzzles, often buggy eyes, and wrinkled facial expressions.  This includes English Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Shih Zhuhs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, Pekinese, Boxers and others.  As they continue to gain in popularity, the respiratory compromise and increased inability to breathe even at rest (among other severe genetically inherited diseases) are making veterinarians questions whether it is even humane to continue to breed these kinds of dog.
