Born in Houston, TX in 1985 Cranston “Starr” Barefield has always had a love for music since he was a little boy, singing in the children’s choir and playing the trumpet for 6 years while in school. After high school he went straight into the army and after serving 7 years and doing 2 combat tours with the 82 ABN DIV he’s focused on putting out good music and trying to develop a sound that could be pleasing to any audience around the world. With his strong and unique voice, straightforward word play, versatile delivery, and unexplainable swagg. C.Starr knows that he could hang with any of your favorite mainstream or underground artist.
He woke up one morning and was blessed with the talent to put words together and get people attention with his strong voice. When his boys use to be free styling on the karaoke machine he use to just watch because could never get a song wrote. Serving in the military and traveling around the world led to him meeting other people that saw the potential in him and made him better. Also it made him more open minded to other different things. After the military he moved back to Houston to chase his dream.
