Life begins in the womb. Yet respect is declining for the precious commodity that life represents. When we abuse any sort of pharmaceuticals while carrying a new life it becomes dangerous for the unborn child. When we batter a mother who is pregnant we are performing an altruism act of violence. When we do not honor this life we are losing our value as a village. It is the responsibility of the Village, of the Tribe to honor, protect and serve one another.
Our expert panel of doulas include Deborah Smith, a newly certified Doula who requested this segment. Other panelists include two doulas from Midwives and Associates – Angelina Kruffin also a midwife and Camisha Mahammad; Sekesa Berry of Love N Touch Doula Services; Shaconna Haley of Inner Light is a Holistic prenatal and birth Doula and a researcher in sociology of birth; and a returning guest Rev. Linda La Boyd, a seasoned Doula. These goddesses will join in the discussion tonight on SAVING OUR VILLAGE - RESTORING HUMAN LIFE.
What is a Doula? What is the role in modern medicine of the Doula? Is this necessary in today's modern society? What benefits will the community receive?
This week we join in celebrating "World and Black Breast Feeding Week."
