As a student in High School Akilah desired to be a part of an organized group of young people like herself. Her search proved ineffective as no group welcomed her into its fold.
To the rescue an elder, a teacher, an angel by the name of Mrs. Burke of Westlake High School. She encouraged Akilah to stretch and create what she was looking for elsewhere! Hence the beginning of the BEE CLUB INC.
The acronym means ‘Becoming Empowered through Education’. Mentoring and transformation are the cornerstones of this organization.
Join us for a Great show celebrating our youth. Our special guest is Taylor Jones, who was among the first group of 9th graders in 2013, she now serves the organization as a Board Member!!
