Hello everyone, I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Host for Blog Talk Radio/ Shedding Light.

I want to welcome back our Guests,  FFIMI Director, Donna Winant, and colleague, Annette Burke to bring us an update on their ongoing activities to bring about changes in the penal system as Families, Friends and Individuals for Mentally Ill, (FFIMI)  and their networking affiliates, focus on the most appropriate alternatives to addressing  the needs of the Mentally ill Incarcerated individuals.

There is an enormous need for Criminal Justice Reform, as the population of incarcerated men, women and youth escalates. There are 2.3 million incarcerated individuals and primarily in areas of  Mental Health, Wrongful Convictions, Victims who became Offenders, and First-Time Offenders.

The U.S. is the ONLY COUNTRY in the World, with mass Incarceration and it needs to end. Individuals with Mental Health issues need Long-Term Residential Treatment Facilities, not Prisons. So, Let's welcome our Guests.
