Hello everyone, I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Host for Blog Talk Radio/ Shedding Light.

We have two Guests with us this evening.  Donna Winant, whom many of you have become familiar with.  Donna is Founder of FFIMI, and with Donna, we want to also welcome Aliyah Foster, and I will let Aliyah tell the audience a little about herself, as well. Donna and Aliyah are going to be doing something unique for the audience and we hope, following this presentation, everyone will get a clearer understanding of the epidemic we have in America and it's penal system, of Mental Illnesses and the urgent need for appropriate Mental Health Treatment and Prison Reform. Prisons need to be replaced with Long-term Residential Treatment Facilities, managed by Mental Health Providers such as Department of Mental Health. So, Without further ado, let's welcome Donna and Aliyah.

"Dear Laura" is about two faith-based women and their journey into the realm of mental illness. It entails time spent at Bridgewater State Hospital, in Massachusetts and their experiences of worry, support, prayer and a growing friendship. Laura now serves as editor of the Families, Friends and Individuals for the Mentally Ill, Newsletter and blog and she is a dedicated Steering Committee member of FFIMI. Donna and a faith-based actress, playing the part of Laura, will read excerpts of the script.

FFIMI Supports Two Bills by Senator Cindy Friedman, Bill S981 and Representative Ruth Balsar and Cindy Creem in the Senate.
