Shriekfest Radio! Denise Gossett chats with writer, dir, prod Sevgi Cacina!

Sevgi Isabel Cacina (writer, director, producer): Sevgi Isabel Cacina was born to an Arabic Muslim family in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied Management in Turkey’s leading university, Bogazici University in order to work in Marketing. After successfully completing her studies, she decided to dedicate her life to something more meaningful than promoting toothpaste and cars. Her search led her to fly to Los Angeles to write and direct films. She has grown in a family of oppressed women therefore she wants to tell stories to encourage women and challenge the norms of a male dominated world with prominent female characters and become an influencing example as a successful woman who faced oppression herself. She has traveled to six continents in the world and her curious personality enabled her to have a fun and interesting life full of stories to tell. She is interested in all genres but mostly writes and directs dark comedy and crime.

Her short film "Ghosted" was an official selection at Shriekfest 2017!
