A married couple who co-hosted a radio show titled "The Pursuit To Happiness" was found dead last week in an apparent double suicide. Both were in their late forties. On the heels of this tragic incident several reports were released on the recent alarming increase in suicides in people fifity and older.

In tonight's episode co-hosts Anastasia Rosen-Jones and Jack Slattery along with guest, Gloria Grace, a retired social worker with more than four decades experience in social services, explore inferences that can be drawn from these reports and their relevance to our present societal needs to build a healthier society.

At issue here, for tonight's discussion forum, are questions such as:

1. What might lie behind an individual's struggle to stay alive or not during tough times such as we are now encountering in our society?

2. How does the average person seek to find that which gives purpose and meaning to one's life so that suicide is not viewed as an option?

3. What are the implications for the goals of our building a "best possible society" when suicide is an option?

Anastasia and Jack conclude tonight's on-air broadcast by inviting listeners to reflect on what it is that gives meaning to their lives.

Listeners are invited to take this topic to a deeper, more personal level with Anastasia and Jack with a call-in conference discussion at 712.432.0600, access code 640883 (also recorded).
