Storytelling In The Midst of Tragedy

Kids and Kops In Conversation, the final event of the first New Horizons' Coffee House Conversation On Race Relations Series, has placed the organization Anastasia heads in a unique position. A murder last Saturday afternoon in the local community within which these programs have been being held, the Kids and Kops program following on it this Saturday, June 20, means that this community has moved itself onto a profound healing platform. (This program was rescheduled from May 16 in order for New Horizons to support and participate in a local Stop The Violence March.)

Already in Frederick County, Maryland, the local community has shown itself incredibly able to move beyond the polarization of "kids and kops" to reach new levels of caring, compassion, healing and hope.
