Accepting Truth~

Why is it so difficult for some people to believe truthful ideas and concepts? After all, does anyone come right out and say that they want nothing to do with truth, and that they would rather believe a lie because it will make their lives better? This seems ludicrous on it's face, but when you look at the world through the lens of social media, main stream media, and 'liberal' idealism you see that the love of truth for it's own sake has grown cold in society.

The idea of a 'Liberal Arts' education has changed over the past 50 or so years from learning as much as you can about a subject before expressing an opinion about it, reading and exploring ideas that are not your own and then feeling as if you must embrace them just because they exist, to the idea that if you hear ideas from someone or something you believe you should trust you must establish them in your mind as truth without concrete proof to back them up. Doing this allows a person to believe a lie as if it is true, and then claiming that you are not responsible for that content in your mind.

The concept of 'Liberal thought' has changed dramatically from being willing to listen to the point of view of others, apply logical process to what you have heard, and then establish a base line of practice that demonstrates the workability and worthyness of that concept in real life, to blind acceptance of what someone has espoused as truth simply based on the authority granted to them by some academic or religious certification that automatically makes these people superior to your own knowledge base.

The idea of thinking for ourselves has lost it's luster in the face of the pressure to fit in to society.

Truth is not conjecture or wishful thinking. Truth simply IS! Learning how salvation really works requires stepping away from the crowd and making a choice to follow the path to Truth through the words of Jesus!
