Christmas Presence~

One of the highlights of the Christmas season, especially Christmas Day is the giving and recieving of presents. For Children, it is the most important part of the holiday, because they get to unwrap these presents and see what the surprise is inside the package. For adults with children it is being able to give them something from 'Santa' that they normally would not get in everyday life. Socks don't count. My grandson is 17 months old, and this will be the first Christmas that he has any recognition of the importance of the day. The house is decorated with lights, and maybe a Christmas tree. But a child that young has not recognition of the true importance of the day, and won't until much later.

For me, the most important part of the Christmas season is not that there is beautiful music, or even a lovely family gathering. It is the true Christmas story that was expressed in the account of the birth in John 1:

"And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of graciouness and truth." John 1:14.

Jesus came to this earth to bring the WORD of God from heaven by being that very Word. And that Word of Truth in us will make us like the Father, through the Holy Spirit. 

This is the Christmas Presences of the Word of God in us, that demonstrates that we indeed have 'God in us', and not just around us. This is the difference between acknowledging that Jesus came in the flesh as a present, but having Jesus inside of us by our living in that Word, being the presence of the Word in the world.
