David Warner Mathisen explores the connections between the world’s ancient myths and the stars, and the overwhelming volume of evidence which argues that virtually all the ancient scriptures and sacred stories from cultures around the world are built upon a common foundation of celestial metaphor in which mythical characters and events correspond to specific constellations as part of an ancient code or language designed to convey profound truths for our benefit and blessing.

David will share with us about how this system can be seen to be fully developed even in the very earliest texts from the most ancient civilizations known to conventional history, suggesting that its origins may be even more ancient and beliefs more alike than we might think.

David has had an interest in myths and stars from an early age. He grew up with the indispensable star books of famous children’s authors. He Graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point became an infantry officer in the 82nd Airborne and 4th Infantry Divisions and obtained a Masters degree in literature from Texas A&M.

Teaching in the Department of English and Philosophy at West Point teaching the Odyssey, he had the opportunity to meet Professor Robert Fagles, author of superlative translations of the Iliad and the Odyssey. It was only later that David would discover evidence that the characters and episodes in both the Iliad and the Odyssey are also based on the constellations and heavenly cycles, using the infinite realm of the stars to depict truths relating to the Invisible Realm, and to the vital task of recovering our essential self, from whom we become alienated and estranged in this incarnate life, according to the ancient myths.

Author of The Ancient World-Wide System (Star Myths of the World, Volume One) and several other volumes, books publications, videos and more which can be found on his website www.starmythworld.com
