Maharani (Cristina García). She was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1981. Always with an itch in her heart, she left her hometown when she was 19, in search of the purpose of her life, reluctant to believe that life is just a place to come and pay bills and struggle, with rare moments of happiness. The search led her to live in other parts of Mexico, Canada, and Spain.

In 2001 she had a massive breakthrough after a horrible break-up. Sad is an understatement: she felt she was done with life. Since she already had intelligently tried to end her at 14, and it was not only unsuccessful - duh - but also revelating, She knew that wasn´t the way to go

Years later she found her calling and became an Ishaya monk in 2010. Ishaya monks live in the world and their commitment is to transcend the limitations of the mind and teach others to do the same.

Maharani studied Spanish and acting, which makes her uniquely vibrant when she speaks.

Very long story short, it led her to a path of discovery, magic, growth and unexpected turns that ended up in a mountain in Spain in 2009 where she meditated for six months, while exploring and transcending the biggest enemy - the mind.

Her background is in acting and also Spanish and English literature. She wrote her first poem when she was six years old and has been writing ever since.

She is a passionate blogger, teacher, and writer. Currently living in Spain, in the mountains where the Ishayas teach their retreats, and teaches meditation around the world. One of the things she hasn´t been able to transcend is the lack of good Mexican food where she lives.
