For some years now the United States has been moving from stories based on facts and observables to narratives that demand to be accepted on faith alone. Many schools have taken as truth the idea that children cannot learn unless they have high self-esteem and self esteem is dependent on the total acceptance of the child's opinions. A pitched battle is taking place concerning the educational curriculum in which proponents of the Biblical idea of creation should be taught along side scientifc theories such as Darwin's theory of evolution. Finally, the media has decided that its reporters should, in the name of being fair and balanced, should accept all statements as equal regardless they are based on opinions or observable facts no matter how false the facts or patently absurd the opinions.
