The authoritarian name calling that defined this election (and a number of earlier ones as well) did not discuss one of the chief causes of the unrest caused by unemployment and shrinking wages. Machines can do many things cheaper and neater than a human worker. "I Robot" and "The Terminator" were two (of many) apocalyptic film in which human beings give up their humanity by worshiping technology as the basis of all progess and ultimately lose their civilization to "smart" machinery.
