Jaylexia Clark - Areas of Study:Labor, Law and Society, Social Movements, Race & Ethnicity and Gender - is a first-year graduate student and a Deans' Fellowship recipient in the Department of Sociology. She received her Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University (2019). Prior to coming to Notre Dame, she worked with a variety of organizations such as the NYC based Worker Institute and the Tompkins Country Workers Center to advocate for better legal protections and a living wage for all workers. She continues to collaborate with a variety of community-based organizations to end abuses in labor caused by globalization, racism and sexism.
Her primary interest is in studying the affects of advancements in technology on exacerbating legal precarity for workers based on race, gender and national context. jclark25@nd.edu
