Welcome to Survivor's Speak Radio, our show tonight is about Surviving the loss of love one(s) and coping with the trauma thereafter.  Our guest tonight is Javier Figueroia, he is a survivor, youth leader and a community member of Watts.

Javier was born in Los Angeles California and has been raised in the Watts area for the majority of his life his. All throughout his life he has had to deal with the loss of friends and family members, his most traumatic experience of losing a love one was when his cousin got violently hit by a car as he walked acrossed the street.

The trauma of losing his cousin led to Javier not trusting society and having a fear and disdain for cars.

Javier story is unique, it gives us a glipse into the day to day life of a young person dealing with trauma in the Watts community. His story also speaks to the tenacity that it takes to cope and deal with the aftermath of losing a love one.

Javier has successfully finished high school, he is gainfully employed and he is a leader in his community.

We appreciate Javier for coming on to our show, he is a very exciting young man that has alot of enthusiasm and we are blessed to have him here tonight.

Survivor's Speak blog talk radio is about survivor's having a platform to be heard and thereby healed through expressing their story.

Tonights show will be hosted by The Reverence Project very own Phillip "Rock" Lester.
