With the recent set of laws in Hungary propelled by Viktor Orban, it has led me to reflect on my former days in my Masters Political Science program and "Diplomacy" book by Henry Kissinger.   Europe used to be ruled by the Holy Roman Empire primarily before the nation-state was born.  President Orban wants to maintain a religious mandate of the traditional family in his country.  He does not want Youth to be influenced by the LGBTQ movement, represented in schools or the media.  He wants parents to privately decide how to raise their children, most likely, in a traditional way.  On NPR today, it stated that international civil rights movements have crossed borders and threatened the stability of government to manage their own choices.  Gay rights fall under civil rights and the worldwide movement to recognize people with different sexual preferences has become a demand by most in the movement.  But it can be complex, when certain school districts demand not only that this dimension of sexual respresentaton is promoted but pronouns are taught to describe asexual people and others who don't fit into a common identity.  This leads to my questioning of sovereignity of a nation to excuse suggestions by the EU, US or international groups to adopt their liberal agenda.  Just as conservatives are influenced by the church, is the state in itself an autonomous body that needs no correcting?  I will bring in foreign policy history and concepts.  We had a narrow minded caller who promoted separation of races, endorsed Nazi Germany and was dismissive to the hosts.  You can't "save" someone who promotes Christianity but doesn't believe in "loving your neighbor as yourself."  He cherry picked the Bible.
