Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, Teruo (pronounced “TEH-ROO-OH”) Artistry is a fresh, design-first clothing company inspired by a collective of artists who dedicate their lives to creating something from nothing by any dreams necessary. Teruo Artistry believes what we wear defines who we are. Teruo was named after founders’ Brian “Deep” Watters (Deep H20Z) and artist Timothy Teruo Watters’ (TTW) grandfather, Teruo Iyama, an internment camp survivor during World War II. The name, “Teru” which means “sunshine” in Japanese and “o” meaning “man” represents the sunshine in the arts and good fortune it brings to its participants, patrons and fans.
