LOS ANGELES (Dec. 24, 2013) -- Dan Hardy pushes an African-American outlook on sports for a thought-provoking and humorous hour during his radio-talk show on Thursdays.

The show, which made its national debut from Los Angeles on Nov. 7, tackles the major issues of the day and features insightful commentary from an African-American perspective.

For this week's show:

  • He weighs in on the growing need to stress academics more for student athletes amid statistics that show they are highly unlikely to be like Michael Jordan, Lisa Leslie or Serena Williams.

  • He turns attention to the often-overlooked charitable side of athletes, who use their tremendous positive influence to do more than set up foundations as tax-planning vehicles, but rather to make a real difference.

  • In addition, he will explore the emerging presence of African Americans on sports channels as ESPN, FOX, NBC and CBS scramble for dominance over live content and ground-breaking studio shows.

Also, a few other compelling sports topics will be discussed this week on "The Dan Hardy Show."
