LOS ANGELES (Feb. 26, 2014) -- Sports-talk radio host Dan Hardy will spotlight during his hour-long show the improper influence of coaches and agents in Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball, which plays an increasingly pivotal role in the lives of adolescents who aspire to become professional athletes.

The show will offer insight into the increased presence of third-party individuals who wield more power than most high school coaches in the recruitment of top prospects for universities seeking big-time basketball talent.

Among callers will be Mark Macon, who was named Mr. Basketball of the state of Michigan in 1987 before finishing his collegiate career at Temple University as the school's all-time leading scorer and getting selected No. 9 by the Detroit Pistons in the 1991 NBA Draft.

The show will also take a look at athletes who have fallen from grace and see where they were then and where they are today at a time when Sports Illustrated estimates that 78 percent of NFL players face serious financial problems within two years of retirement, and as many as 60 percent of NBA players are flat broke within five years of retirement.

In addition, the show will debate a list of the greatest female athletes of the 20th century, an era whose footprints include the mark of Jackie Joyner-Kersee, who won three gold, one silver and two bronze medals over four consecutive Olympic Games.

Tune in and be part of the conversation Thursday on the "Dan Hardy Show."
