Could the Chosen One Prophecy Be Wrong? The mythology of Star Wars was sent into hyperspace when Qui Gon Jinn first mentioned the prophecy of the “Chosen One” in The Phantom Menace. This prophecy has recently been fully revealed in the novel Master and Apprentice. But is there more to it than meets the eye? This week, we take a closer look at this central element of the Skywalker saga. In the 20 years since the release of Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars fans have wondered and speculated about the infamous “Chosen One” prophecy. This prophecy has continued to appear in canon, and recently has been fully revealed in Claudia Gray’s Master and Apprentice. What is the “Chosen One Prophecy,” and could it be wrong; could it be just a part of a grand plan for the manipulation of the Jedi, constructed by the Sith themselves?
