Tonight, on “It's Real Talk Radio”, we will be paying tribute to the late-great brother, Earl Simmons, better known by his stage name, DMX! This was a fiery brother who gave Hip Hop his all! From street anthems to story-telling to club bangers, to prayers, there was no limit to what DMX brought to the mic! In 1998, DMX's breakout year, he set a tone that we've yet to see be matched, having dropped to commercial hit albums, in the same year. This is just not something we see in music at all, let alone Hip Hop!

In 1998, DMX dropped his debut album “It's Dark And Hell Is Hot”, which debut at #1. That same year, he dropped “Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood”, which also debuted at #1. In 1999, the Dark Man dropped his third studio album, “…And Then There Was X”, which also debuted at #1, with hit singles "What These Bitches Want and Party Up (Up In Here), which was his biggest hit single. By 2003, DMX became the first artist to have his first 5 albums enter the Billboard Charts at #1!

People who knew X would describe him as charitable and a people's person. He didn't care about the money or the fame and he never sold out. He always stayed true to who he was and embraced everyone as equals. He never went Hollywood, even during the height of his career with the movies and successful music career. X was just one of the guys!

There's no secret that DMX struggled with drug addiction and on Friday, April 9th, 2021, passed away from complications, due to a drug overdose. Hip Hop loss a legendary icon and one of the best to ever do it! Well tonight, as me mourn the loss of our brother; we celebrate his life and all of his many accomplishments! We will be playing songs, prayers and audio clips from some of his iconic interviews! If you're an X fan, you definitely won't wanna miss this, because we're gonna represent X the right way!
