The State Bar of Texas regulates the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct. Lawyers use social media to build relationships, to market services in existing relationships and to conduct themselves as thought leaders sharing important resources and information in the community. Lawyers also use social media to investigate people, places and things of interest. The law is catching up to technology and the rules and procedures for social media use by Texas lawyers.

James V.
