We will recap this weekend's action, and Mario makes his response rap debut lol. Unbeaten lightweight Saul “Neno” Rodriguez (18-0-1, 13 KOs), of Riverside, California, hammered out an eight round unanimous decision against Ramsey Luna (12-4, 5 KOs), of Corpus Christi, Texas, on Saturday night at the Churchill County Fairgrounds in Fallon, Nevada. Good action fight. The Robert Garcia-trained Rodriguez won by scores of 79-73, 78-74, 80-72.
Unbeaten super bantamweight Victor Pasillas (11-0, 4 KOs) from East Los Angeles, scored a third round TKO over Andres Tapia (8-5-2, 2 KOs) of Mexicali, Mexico, in an eight-rounder. Southpaw Pasillas dropped Tapia in round one. He then battered Tapia to a knee in round three. Tapia was kept on his stool after round three.
The 23-year-old brother of legendary world champion Erik Morales went down 97-93 on two scorecards, whilst a third judge gave ‘El Terrible II’ a draw - which wasn’t enough to keep the southpaw’s unbeaten run intact.
Morales had previously gone 28-0 and looked to be on the fast track to a world title shot, although will have to rethink his plans following a gutsy display by Jimenez - who improved his record to 20-11-2 and may have earned a high-profile rematch.
