Joseph FireCrow stops in at the Coffee House

Acoustic guitarist Joseph Strider has covered a lot of musical ground in his career thus far. From boy soprano in school choirs, to playing with a cover band, Strider has spent the years developing his own unique style, a style that fits in no established genre and can best be described as modern Indigenous alternative.

Joseph FireCrow is one the top 3 Native American flute players in the world today. Echodisc said in a review, “Joseph FireCrow is quite simply one of the most gifted players of the Native American flute”. Another reviewer described FireCrow as a “national treasure”.

FireCrow has released 7 solo albums to date, 5 internationally. His accomplishments include a GRAMMYTM nomination in the Best Native American Music Album category, 3 Native American Music Awards for Songwriter of the Year, Best Instrumental Recording and Flutist of the Year, a Telly award and most recently FireCrow was a guest artist on a GRAMMYTM winning CD in the Best New Age Album category in January 2010.
Ken Burns has honored FireCrow by utilizing his music for the documentaries “Lewis and Clark: The Journey of the Corps of Discovery” and “The National Parks: America’s Best Ideas”.
