Native Talk, the Residential School System in Canada

I for one was completely oblivious growing up that there was another completely separate educational system going on in Canada. It was called the Residential School system set up for Indigenous children as a way to assimilate them into a white culture upon the arrival of Europeans to  North America.

Thursday has been set aside as my day to provide a space where we get to hear the voices of Indigenous people, Everyone else who is interested in educating themselves in the history of what happened are welcome to join us. This is not to blame anyone or anything but only to provide a clear picture for more understanding why recovery and reconciliation are so necessary today. Generations later the Indigenous families continue to struggle in a effort to survive and thrive.
