Alternative ways to raise money for teacher salaries

At the beginning of every school year, there is talk around the country about difficulty filling teacher positions because of a lack of teachers. It has long been accepted that one will not become rich by teaching. However, it is time that we start considering other means of properly compensating teachers so that the pool of teachers doesn't dwindle to the point where there is a crisis on hand.
