Good morning, today on The Meter, we will cover the latest in Hurricane Harvey. Hundreds of thousands are effected as the storm slams the Texas coast. President Trump faces his first test with a natural disaster with fears of Katrina on Americans' minds. Many on the political left are blaming climate change for the weather event. This week President Trump held a rally in Phoenix, AZ admidst the recent allegations of racism after the Charlottesville riots. The President spoke before a ruckus crowd of supporters while protesters gathered outside. Trump criticized the hometown Senators of John McCain and Jeff Flake for the failure to repeal Obamacare and being weak on border security. During the event, President Trump hinted that he would pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Trump indeed pardoned the sheriff on Friday and received criticism immediately from the Democrats. Sheriff Joe was convicted of contempt of court for failing to obey an order that the court said was racial profiling. Arpaio denied the allegations. Please join the discussion at 10:00 AM.
